Sprinkler questions

Can you add drip to a yard that only has sprinklers?

Yes. We add a drip line off your existing system for beds, trees and planters, with its own valve, filter and pressure regulator. Old spray heads around shrubs waste a lot of water in the high desert, and switching them to drip usually cuts outdoor water use 30 to 50 percent.

Do you turn the system back on in the spring?

Yes. Spring startups run from late March into early April. We turn the water on slowly, check every area, replace what the winter broke, and set the timer for the season. Ask to go on the spring list when you book your blowout.

Do you handle the sprinklers on a new sod job?

Yes, and we would rather do both. The sprinklers go in or get fixed first, then the sod goes down over them. That way nothing is dug up twice and the new lawn gets water from day one.

Is a new system worth it, or should I keep patching the old one?

A system past 15 to 20 years that leaks every month usually costs more to patch than to replace in parts. We look at the age, the pipe and the valves, and tell you in writing which way is cheaper over the next five years.
